clarisonic mia2 + sephora stuff

I don't wear foundation on a daily basis, but I do wear BB cream everyday.  Unfortunately just hands aren't good enough to clean off my makeup, so somewhat recently I've been using a washcloth to get everything off.  Unfortunately the only place to hang it is in the bathroom close to the toilet , and a lot of times my sister or someone knocks it to the ground.  It's disgusting.

Anyways, I purchased the Clarisonic Mia 2 from Sephora because it included a Kate Somerville Gentle Daily Wash and Dilo Oil Restorative Treatment.

The Clarisonic was more plastic-y than I expected, if that makes sense.  I expected something a little more substantial but the device is quite light.  The head it came with was the sensitive one.  At first it reminded me of a toilet bowl cleaner so I was scared it would be rough, but it's actually quite soft.  It also comes with a travel case and a charger.

The instructions said to charge it for 24 hours.  I thought that was stupid and used it after an hour of charging.  It feels quite nice on the skin and removed my makeup as well as my rougher attempts with a washcloth.  I've only used it for a few days, but I wish I could've had this when I was in high school (I had really dry skin, used body soap to wash to face, and never exfoliated or moisturized).

Right now I don't think of it too much as a gamechanger, but it would've been 1 year ago when my skincare habits weren't as good as they are now.

Kate Somerville Daily Wash — 3/5
Scent: Generic Face Wash
Consistency: Gel

It does the job of cleaning my face.  While it does feel more drying on my skin than the cleanser I normally use, I think it's alright since it didn't have any adverse effects on me.  I did get some in my eye though.  It really burned and made my eye red for the rest of the evening. :|

I guess the cool thing about it is instead of twisting the cap off completely, there's a small hole in the center that dispenses the product when you twist the cap.

Kate Somerville Dilo Oil — 3/5

It's not excessively greasy and seems to absorb well.  It also does make my skin softer when I apply it even though I think my skin is already soft, but I can't get over the smell.  The smell reminds me of a Burt's Bees Acai Berry Lip Balm I have, and everytime I smell the lip balm I am reminded of those Flintstones vitamins that I used to take as a kid.

My package also came with a deluxe sample of Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso and 3 samples that I haven't tried yet.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso — 5/5
Color: Red
Type: Matte
Scent: Red Velvet Cake

The staying power of this is amazing, and the color looks incredibly vibrant.  If you don't have skill in lipstick application, beware, because once you mess up by going outside your lip lines, it won't come off.  It happened to me. :(

I like how it smells like cake and I would love to get another one in a more forgiving color.  Right now I don't dare to wear such a bold lip outside until I'm a little more skilled at application.

Sephora Collection The Perfector Airbrush Sponge — 4.5/5

It was on sale for $7 but it's back to regular price now.  It's very soft and does a good job of blending out the lines for face makeup.  It's a bit on the small side though, and my hands are already small.
