CHOCOLATE BAR EYE SHADOW PALETTE — $49
I'm a fan of neutrals when it comes to shadows, and I really wanted to invest in a palette that I would be using for a while. Although Urban Decay's Naked Palette ($54) was a strong contender, I ultimately opted for TooFaced's palette. The Chocolate Bar features 16 shadows as opposed to the Naked Palette's count of 12. I also do not currently use grey or black shadows, so 2 of those 12 would be wasted on me.
The Chocolate Bar comes with a variety of both matte and shimmer shadows. I have yet to try all the colors, but I'm already very fond of Salted Caramel and Strawberry Bon Bon.
SHADOW INSURANCE PRIMER — $20
This is my first ever shadow primer. I added this to my cart on a whim because I wanted to get free shipping. For reference, the net weight is 11 g/0.35 oz. I don't have oily lids and I've never encountered a creasing problem so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the product on people who have those issues, but it does enhance the color of my eyeshadow and applies easily enough. One thing I noticed was that it has an odd metallic (?) smell. I noticed this in Sephora when I was looking at the testers, but I assumed that it was because everyone had their grimy hands all over the products.
The scent isn't too offensive, but it reminds me of the smell something would have from a home repair store.
PRIMED & PORELESS PRIMING POWDER (SAMPLE)
There's little or no scent as far as I can tell. For my daily makeup I usually mix BB cream and moisturizing face cream together because I have dry skin. Although I get a decently dewy look from the combination, my face then feels a little uncomfortable to touch because of the added moisture, so I just dusted a light layer of this powder over and everything was fine.
GLAMOUR GLOSS IN FLIRT (SAMPLE)
Flirt is billed as a pink mocha on the site. I thought the shade was too dark for me when I received it in person, but I was surprised to see that it blended with my lip tone decently enough. Application was smooth, but I didn't realize it was a volumizing lip gloss until my lips started to tingle upon application. I immediately wiped it off. For now it doesn't look like I'll be using any kind of volumizing gloss because I think the sensation is a little unpleasant, and I'm not .
CHOCOLATE SOLEIL (SAMPLE) & ENDLESS SUMMER (SAMPLE)
I don't use bronzer, so no comment.
